Steven Spielberg: War Is Hell


I love the way this article begins: "I had to shoot this sequence one step at a time because that’s the way the Rangers took the beach: one inch at a time."

It is an article of Steven Spielberg explaining the way he shot the D-Day invasion that opens Saving Private Ryan, for me is still one of the most shocking and realistic battles scenes on film.
